PROVIDE A STUDY BIBLE
FOR A YOUTH GROUP STUDENT
Why?
Many of our students do not have a Bible of their own or choose to not bring one to Youth Group each week. While we have some available for them to borrow (they are also welcome to utilize the Bible App on their phones), those options can cause them to miss out on some awesome perks:
LESS DISTRACTIONS: no switching between apps or swiping away notifications. Also flipping through pages can help with focus.
IDENTITY: a physical Bible is a statement of a Christian’s identity. In a world where personal identity is so often a struggle to find, this is incredibly important!
MARKING: the physical act of underlining/highlighting helps with retention and the more they use their Bibles, the more their Bibles start to look like something that is personal to them.
How can you help? You can provide a new, (imitation) leather Study Bible to be gifted to a youth group student that will provide helpful insight, space for personal note taking, and be in the same translation that is being taught from! Read on for additional instructions (and links to the specific Study Bibles that are needed).
Instructions:
Select from one of four options below; all are the same "Essential Teen Study Bible" version which utilizes the Christian Standard Bible (CSB) translation for readability and clarity.
If you’re not sure which to choose, reach out to Pastor Jared. Also, keep in mind that the guys outnumber the ladies by a large margin this year.
Place your order on Amazon or Christianbook.com.
Add a card or note of encouragement inside, sign your name on the "from" line on the inside cover, then deliver the Study Bible to Pastor Jared in the church office.
Students will be given the opportunity to choose their own new Study Bible at youth group (extra Bibles will be set aside for future students).
