THE FIFTH QUARTER
What is THE FIFTH QUARTER?
Simply put, THE FIFTH QUARTER (TFQ) is our way of expressing compassion and love for our community.
TFQ is a event for high school students to get together with friends in a safe environment, have fun, and stay up late. It’s open to all 9th-12th grade students, it’s affordable, and it’s local.

Why does it cost money?
It’s $5 at the door not because that covers the cost of putting together the event (it doesn’t) but because it helps ensure students who show up want to be here. In other words, they have some skin in the game.
What activities are there?
It’s one big party! There are multiple options to choose from including Gaga Ball, 9-Square, classic multiplayer video games, plus multiple Tabletop games! Each of the 4 event nights will also have one big game starting at 11pm ranging from Dodgeball and Nerf Battles to Karaoke!
What time does it start and end?
Doors open at 9pm or whenever the varsity game ends, whichever is first! We begin cleanup at midnight with all students having left for home by 12:30am.
Do students have to stay the whole time?
No, students are free to leave whenever they need to. However, for safety reasons, there are no in-and-out privileges. Meaning if they want to pick up McDonalds or Smilees they need to do so before they arrive. Once a student leaves for the night, they need to go home.
Who’s in charge of TFQ?
THE FIFTH QUARTER is hosted by DeWitt E-Free Church and organized by Jared Bennett. Jared has served as the associate pastor and youth pastor here since 2020 and started organizing TFQ events back in 2014 out in Washington state. Additionally, volunteers from DeWitt E-Free are graciously giving their time to help chaperone each TFQ event to ensure everyone has a safe and fun time.
What’s the point of this?
We simply want to show our love for our community. Students aren’t going to bed after the varsity football game so we’re offering a safe space for them to spend time with friends.
